Meeting Information


The Franklin County Task Force on Aging meets the second Thursday of every month (except December) at Carrie’s Café, part of the LifeCare Alliance building located at 670 Harmon Avenue.  From time to time the meeting will be held at alternate locations, as requested by hosting facilities. 

For meetings held at LifeCare Alliance, members are encouraged to come early to order their lunch from the café.  Carrie’s Café will offer members both a cold lunch special and a hot lunch special at very reasonable prices.  Meetings at alternate locations will have lunch provided by the hosting facility.

Meetings begin at noon with a brief welcome followed by our guest speaker.  Guest speakers are selected for the valuable information that they provide to our members in an effort to help them serve their patients/clients/residents better.  Previous speakers have included the Ohio Department of Medicaid, the Central Ohio Suicide Hotline, the Franklin County Veterans Service Commission, Hospital Advisory, and many more.

The guest speaker is followed by the business meeting where we announce upcoming Task Force events and activities, as well as any new policy changes or other announcements.  Then new members will have an opportunity to introduce themselves, followed by member announcements of job opportunities and special events. 

The Franklin County Task Force on Aging is scheduled to meet until 1:30 PM which allows our members opportunity to network and engage in business development.

    Guest Speakers:  Tyler McDowell from the Franklin County Sherriff's Department

    Tyler will be presenting information on Project Lifesaver - a county based program to monitor people who are flight risks. 

     

    ADVOCACY ITEMS:  To help LifeCare Alliance continue to support those in the    community with special needs from special circumstances, please bring the         following advocacy items to be donated to the "Groceries to Go":

    Grains and pasta:  rice, rice dinners, quinoa, noodles, mac & cheese, pasta, and pasta meals

    Toni will be presenting on transitions in care of the elderly.
